Source

Human IGFBP-1 Protein, His Tag (IG1-H52H3) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Ala 26 - Asn 259 (Accession # P08833).

Predicted N-terminus: Ala 26

Molecular Characterization

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 27.2 kDa. The protein migrates as 32-35 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

Endotoxin

Less than 1.0 EU per μg by the LAL method / rFC method.

Purity

>90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.

>95% as determined by SEC-MALS.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4 with trehalose as protectant.

Introduction de fond

IGFBP1 stands for insulin-like growth factor binding protein 1. It is a protein that binds to insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and regulates their availability and activity within the body. IGFBP1 is part of a family of six IGFBPs (IGFBP1-6) that interact with IGFs to modulate their biological effects. IGFBP1 binds to IGFs (mostly IGF-1) with high affinity and prolongs their half-life in the circulation by protecting them from degradation. IGFBP1 has also been found to have IGF-independent functions, suggesting that it may have additional roles beyond regulating IGF signaling.
