Human Cathepsin S, His Tag (CTS-H52H9) is expressed from human 293 cells (HEK293). It contains AA Gln 17 - Ile 331 (Accession # P25774-1).

This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus. The protein has a calculated MW of 37.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 38-42 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

The protein was designed as the pro-form (AA 17-331). However, due to the inherent autoprocessing nature of Cathepsin S, the activation peptide is partially cleaved during expression and purification. Consequently, the final product coexists as a mixture of the pro-form (AA 17-331) and the mature form (AA 115-331).

The protein is designed as a dimer.
