Exatecan is a semi-synthetic camptothecin-derived topoisomerase I inhibitor. It specifically binds to and inhibits topoisomerase I, blocking DNA replication and transcription processes to potently suppress tumor cell proliferation. As a highly active cytotoxic payload, it serves as a core component of multiple antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and is widely used in the research, development and clinical translation of targeted anti-tumor ADC drugs.
