CD105, also known as Endoglin, is a ~180 kDa type I integral membrane homodimeric glycoprotein (90 kDa per subunit) and a core positive marker for mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) identification via flow cytometry. It is highly expressed on vascular endothelial cells, placental syncytiotrophoblasts, activated monocytes and tissue macrophages, with weak expression on stromal fibroblasts, and upregulated in activated endothelium during angiogenesis (e.g., tumors, wound healing, dermal inflammation).
