IgG Isotype Controls
Antibody drugs have become an important field in the development of biomedicine. Isotype control antibodies in antibody drug development are of the same class and subtype as the primary antibody developed against the target, but do not specifically bind to a known or potential target. The purpose of using the isotype control is to confirm that the binding or effect of the primary antibody is specific, excluding non-specific interactions with Fc receptor proteins or with other proteins. Meanwhile, isotype control can also be used as an antibody that competes for binding to Fc receptor proteins, which is related to functional blocking antibody perform the same function, which facilitates effective and reasonable evaluation of the efficacy of antibody drugs. Non-specific background is an important variable that needs to be controlled. Setting the corresponding isotype control antibody to detect non-specific binding can reduce the generation of false positive results and evaluate the possible influencing factors accurately in the drug development process.
ACROBiosystems has developed a series of monoclonal antibodies with Human and Mouse species and different subtypes, which can be used as isotype control antibodies in various applications such as ELISA, western blot, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (IHC) and flow cytometry (FACS), etc.
